Movies on the Great Lawn, terrific weather, and each week more people come with their blankets and beach chairs to take in a movie on the west end of Main Street.

With sunset earlier each week, tonight’s movie started at 8:30 featuring Field of Dreams that was released in 1989.  200+ came to see Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones, and Amy Madigan fill the screen.

A big thanks is due the Westhampton Beach PBA for sponsoring  tonight’s movie and two others, with support from with Brown Harris Stevens.

The start of the official village year begins on the first Monday in July.  The re-organizational meeting is set for 7:00 p.m.

Monday night movies on the Great Lawn continues with a showing of Footloose.   It looks like the weather will be great with no rain, and a gentle breeze of 4 mph out of the southeast in the forecast.  Bring a light jacket or sweater as evening temperatures will fall near the dew point.

Don’t forget Thursday on the Village Green beginning at 7:30 will be the Boomers with Rock and Roll from the 60’s and 70’s.

On Friday there will be music at Rogers Beach along with some great food available at the concession stand.

Who could have been certain that five years later the independence declared would be secured at the Battle of Yorktown and memorialized two years after that in the Treaty of Paris.
