…a day for high treason 239 years ago.  No doubt, at the time, there was more gallows humor than celebration at Independence Hall in Philadelphia

Who could have been certain that five years later the independence declared would be secured at the Battle of Yorktown and memorialized two years after that in the Treaty of Paris.

Great New Things…

Follow Progress For Westhampton Beach

The summer is getting into full swing with Monday night movies on the Great Lawn.

Now with a trial run for music and dinner at Rogers Beach, there is a vitality that is infectious.

These are good things for the village that are the collaboration of many people.  Thank you to everyone at village hall and those in the community who are making great things happen every day.

This builds on the work of others from:   concerts on the village green on Thursdays made possible by the Westhampton Cultural Consortium; the Performing Arts Center, with a full schedule of events, the Mary O. Fritchie Art Show coming on August 1st by the Chamber of Commerce, and the Farmer’s Market every Saturday. No one person does it all.  It is an entire community pulling in the same direction.
